The Code Zone Values Your Privacy
The Code Zone is committed to protecting your privacy. We only use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide support and upgrades for our products. We will never send you advertising. Please read on for more details about our privacy policy.
What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order, we need to know your name, and e-mail address (although Google Checkout gives you the option to hide your email address behind a temporary forwarding address that they provide). This allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status.
In addition, we store information (handle, email address) for the daily puzzles. While you do create a password to play the daily puzzles, the passwords are not stored on The Code Zone's servers. We store information about your password as a non-reversible hash value. That means that if you ever lose your password, all you can do is accept a randomly-generated replacement from us. We cannot retrieve passwords. This is for your own peace of mind as well as ours.
How does The Code Zone protect customer information?
The Code Zone uses PayPal and Google Checkout as our secure payment processors. That means that at no time does The Code Zone ever have access to your account information (credit card, bank account, etc). The payment processors collect that data and only transfer the funds into our account. There is no way that we could ever "double-charge" your card or anything like that, as we never have access to your account numbers.
What about "cookies"?
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. The daily puzzles do use cookies to store game settings and login information for you, but not the password in a way that can be decrypted.
As with all cookies, you have the option to shut them off without affecting your gaming experience. They are there strictly for your own convenience.
The Code Zone does not use "tracking cookies" or any other method to monitor your browsing habits.
Will The Code Zone disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Trust us, we're just as annoyed as you about companies making a profit off your email address. We won't do it.
Mind you, the US Department of Homeland Security has recently taken on a policy of "private data is private unless we want it". In the very unlikely event that the feds decide they want to see what email addresses have been playing games on company time, it'll have to be accompanied by a threat of jail-time, and they should expect a civil liberties lawsuit after it's done.
Will you send me anything?
If you opt to receive the daily high score emails, you will receive those. The daily high score emails are strictly informational and don't contain any advertising.
And they are off by default.
And you can always shut them off via The Code Zone's Account Manager.
In Summary
The Code Zone is committed to protecting your privacy. We don't store passwords. We don't have access to your account numbers. We don't spam. We won't sell your information. We just store your email address and handle for playing convenience.
The Code Zone makes money by selling cheap puzzle games. We also make some money from ads in the daily puzzles. That's it. There's nothing else sneaky going on behind the scenes.
Your Consent
