Welcome to you and I hope you enjoy my little puzzle-site. The ads in the back of Games Magazine are a little experiment of mine. I've never actually purchased ads before, just letting word-of-mouth (as well as people looking for "Bulldozer Game" in Google) be my marketing department. When I finally got myself a little bit of cash earmarked for marketing, I decided to go with what I'd always considered to be a cornerstone in the "puzzle industry" as well as a little piece of my own personal history.
You see, I'm a charter subscriber to Games. When Games went into print in 1977, I was a ten year old kid with a fascination for puzzles. My grandmother, seeing this, ordered me a subscription and renewed it every year for my birthday. And I still have that first issue as well as every issue printed since.
Fast-forward to 2008, and Games has gone through some changes in the intervening 30 years. It's no longer owned by Playboy so there aren't as many whisky and cigarette ads. Computer games are no longer a curiosity. And, sadly, I have to buy my own subscriptions now because grandma's gone.
But some thing don't change. For one, I never have been able to defeat a world's-most-ornery-crossword without consulting the easy clues at least once. Most of all, it's remained a great magazine as well as a little piece of my childhood.
I hope you enjoy the games, and feel free to email me a howdy if you're a fan of the games and/or the magazine.
Sincerely,
John Hattan
